Sidmouth Running Club Enter Hilly Woody Trail Races With Great Results

On Saturday Christine and Karen Farnham enjoyed the 10k Exeter Trail Race organised by Sportivia events. Based around the grounds of Escot they tackled tough little climbs and slid through wet, muddy areas in the woods to finish in a very respectable 64:06 and 65:04 respectively.

SRC junior Emily Smith took part in the Minster Challenge 5k which was based from her school, Axe Valley Academy. Emily (u14) ran exceptionally, finishing 3rd female in 31:13.

Juniors Marcus Weiffer, Wilf and Amelia Womersley were over in Tiverton running the Feighan Fury 5k fun run along with Susie, Wilf’s mum and Grahame Womersley-Westlake, Amelia’s dad.  Marcus and Wilf powered through to finish 2nd and 3rd respectively in 30 and 32 minutes and Amelia finished in 50 minutes.

Three Mighty Green ladies took part in the 10 mile Feighan Fury organised  by South West Road Runners. Tackling hills, rivers and woods Ella Fletcher took it all in her stride to finish 2nd female, 15th out of a field of 148 in 1:24:27. Donna Womersley-Westlake and Clare Bray finished in 2:41:35.
