Festive Runs and Frivolities

Jo Earlam donned the Mighty Green colours when she took part in the Portsmouth Coastal half marathon last weekend-in tinsel. Jo created a fabulous Christmas tree outfit which she ran 13.1 miles in and finished in 2:39:00.

Louise Dalton entered Winding path’s Christmas Canal Canter, ran her first sub 3:15:00 marathon AND was first to finish.  The Mighty Green is currently 42 miles away from completing 3,000 miles in 2025 and there is doubt this busy mum will complete the challenge alongside celebrating Christmas.

Junior Theo Opie (age 11) had a fantastic run at Greendale Parkrun finishing 8th overall, first SRC in 24:11 and was joined by fellow juniors Marcus Wieffer and Amelia Womersley-Westlake.

For one night only Sidmouth Running Club ditched the mighty green colours and glammed up to celebrate Christmas together thanks to social secretary Naomi Garrick for organising.  The juniors celebrated with a very dark, muddy run through Harpford Woods before retiring to The Bowd for a drink and chips.

Club ambassador Jo Pavey MBE joined the last club run of 2025 which started with carols under the Christmas Tree in the Market Square before the groups split off to do their runs.

There is the Boxing Day run to come, this starts at the flag pole on the seafront at 10am and is open to all.
