On Sunday Sidmouth Running Club’s Ella Fletcher, Mitch Abbot-Lee and Adrian Harris took part in the 10 mile Beer Blazer whilst Carol Hounsell and Clare opted for the 6 mile version. Both were challenging, described by organisers Axe Valley Runners as a ‘real trail challenge’. The 10 mile route has over 1600 feet of elevation and both routes included a stretch on the pebbles. Starting in the fields above Pecorama the multi terrain routes finish at Beer Primary school.
Ella finished 7th overall in a field of 134, 2nd female and first SRC in 1:21:43, Mitch finished in 27th place in 1:44:24 and Adrian in 1:57:08.
Carol and Clare finished in 21st place out of a field of 49 in 1:25:25.
Further afield, Mighty Green Emma Salter took part in the Plymouth Half, kick starting her year of fundraising for MS-UK which finishes with a precious charity place in the London marathon 2027. Emma finished in 2:01:31, 1734th in a field of 4696 finishers.
