It was good to welcome two new local runners last night, Sarah from Ottery and Chris who has just moved here, both handy runners. Also Simon Aldridge who made the journey from Ontario not just to run with us, although he was pretty sweaty when he arrived at the Sailing Club, but also to visit his parents who live here. By his facebook profile he is a competitive Tri and Duathlon athlete so his words below mean a lot to the club. ... See MoreSee Less

Just like Julia Haddrell I've been chasing a sub 30 minute parkrun. After a lifetime of indolence I did my first parkrun in January 2016 at the age of 68 3/4 and I've now done 41 with breaks for injuries. I only joined Sidmouth Running Club this year at the age of 70 but I'm sure it has helped me. Last Saturday I achieved a PB by 45 seconds at Seaton parkrun. Was I happy? Yes and no, because although I gained a PB my time of 30.04 meant I just missed out on my goal! ... See MoreSee Less

Well done David, you are going to achieve it before I do - brilliant effort!

Won't be long before you crack it. Keep trying.
