Thank you all for making The Christmas Social such a great success, the best I have seen. Thank you to every one that brought such an excellent array of food and raffle prizes.
Congratulations to Nigel Donk Maeer whose name was drawn out of the bag by Jo Earlam to represent the Club at the London Marathon. Congratulations to Danny Painter who drew the Mystrey Prize, a bottle of champagne and a £50 voucher towards dinner for two at the Victoria Hotel, kindly donated by Jane and Alan Hemsworth and all the other prize winners. Thank you to John Keast for running the bar and all those who signed up on the night including a number of new members. To Naomi Garrick a very big thank you for organising.

www.facebook.com/endeavoursofttissuetherapy/posts/305567446598792One of the most common problems we see here is sadly pain/postural imbalance due to poor workstation set ups. Sitting for 8-10 hours a day in poor posture will over time cause muscle imbalances that cause tightness in some muscles and weakness in others - end result.... pain! While the body isn't built to sit all day (or stand for that matter, it is deigned to move!) this is obviously some thing we cannot avoid if this is our job. There are a few things we can do to manage the situation and reduce risk of associated chronic pain.
Here are simple ergonomic tips to implement (if you can!):
CHAIR - push you hips are far back into your chair as you can. Have lumbar support (i.e. small towel, cushion if you chair doesn't have one built in). Knees slightly lower than your hips and feet flat on the ground.
KEYBOARD/DESK - adjust the keyboard height so your shoulders are relaxed, elbows near your side, arms are straight out in front of you, and wrists flat when typing. If your desk height does not allow of this, either raise keyboard with books if too low, or raise the height of the desk or chair if too high.
MONITOR - position monitor directly in front of you so your head is not turned all day. Eye level should be at 2-3" from the top of the monitor. Keyboards are much more ergonomic than typing from laptops - you can purchase keyboards for your lap top if this is your only option.
BREAKS - set a reminder of your phone to take at least hourly breaks to get up and move for a few minutes, sip water, do mini exercises or stretches.
MASSAGE - from a skilled therapist, we can assess what is the cause of your pain, as well as ease your pain! As well as offer advice, stretches and exercise if necessary. Book now with Endeavour through our online booking at www.endeavoursofttissuetherapy.co.uk ... See MoreSee Less

Don't miss Terry's Terrific Raffle tomorrow night at the Social. I have scoured all of the high end shops in town and come away with some fantastic prizes hence the price of £5 per ticket. You will not be disappointed!!!! ... See MoreSee Less
It was great to welcome two new members to the club who turned out for the run this morning, in fact the only two. David Chipping and Ross Walton are two well good runners and by mile 11 had completely knackered me. Thank you Jo Earlam for walking the last mile with me. It was very windy on top of the common and very boggy in the valleys but it did not rain and the sun came out. We ran a while with some of the Exmouth Running Belles and recorded 12 miles spot on. Thank you for the route Monica Read although I did make a few diversions and only got lost once. ... See MoreSee Less
Thanks for leading the run Terry! Was a great route, although rescuing that transvestite from Squabmoor Bog was a bit surreal... 😉
I had a great time, cheers Terry!
Great to have bumped into you all with Freddie 🐾🐾
I'll get Jim along on Wednesday for his first run too!
Can’t tag Dave for some reason Els?
Wow! That was a great route. Wish I had got up earlier. Good to meet you and tag along for a couple of miles. Thanks.
Aw gutted. Didn't realise there was one today . I went on my own yesterday :(((((
So how lost did you get Terry?
Well Monica Read only once and thankfully the lads are into technology and Ross quickly whipped out his GPS and got us back on track.

Can anyone recommend good running ear phones? Thanks ... See MoreSee Less
Have you had enough of listening to me droning on while we run?! x
I have aftershock headphones they don't sit in or over your ears they use your jawbone. It means you can still hear what is going on around you.
I use Mpow cheetah, they are Bluetooth and stay in your ear well. Good reviews. Check DC Rainmaker for reviews, very thorough.
Aftershockz Tredz titanium - wireless , bone- conducting so hear surrounding noise ( in a good safe way! ) Love them , and yes they are waterproof too!
Kerry Boyle You don't need ear phones, run with me and I will sing to you.
